Mac can't see samba share, but ubuntu can

Postby lamenramen » Sat Mar 30, 2013 7:27 am

Hi,

Having trouble getting my macbook pro running lion ( and another running mountain lion) to see my samba share. It's called 'videos', which is on the Pogoplug 2 of course.

My ubuntu laptop can see 'videos' just fine, and I logged in with my username/password and I'm all set. Great.

My macbook pros can see 'videos', but when I click on the folder it just says 'connection failed', all done in the finder.

Oddly, xbmc installed on my macbook pros can see and access 'videos' just fine.

Any fixes? I really want to be able to browse my samba shares using a mac as well. What am I missing here? Any extra configuration needed?

Thanks!

post retracted. haha, it works again. If it says "connection failed" there is a small grey box that says "connect as" and I logged in just fine.
