archlinux not working after reboot, what to do?

On a V2 Pogoplug, updated the system, rebooted. Orange light comes on but that's it, can't SSH into it or access any functions.

What can I do?

Did you setup netconaole? or so you have serial? if not, check hdd for errors on another machine with e2fsck, if it doesnt help do a full reinstall.

Thanks! e2fsck did the trick.

Any suggestions on the best way to backup my arch install so I can just restore it if something goes wrong in the future?

The steps in this thread http://archlinuxarm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=5004 have helped me to backup (slight modification for a Mac). I have restored my 4 GB disk in 18 minutes when a flash drive failed.
