Does a faster USB make a difference? Recommendations?

Postby yazyazoo » Mon May 13, 2013 10:19 pm

I am building my 2nd Pogoplug box with SAMBA, Sab, CouchPotato, Sickbeard. I think this second system seems a bit slower than my first one. Could the USB stick be the cause? Will it run better if it has a faster speed? I know SD memory cards come with different Class Speed like CL4 vs CL10 being faster.

Do USB stick have these type of speed gradings?

I don't think there's a grading, but there's definitely a difference in performance between USB Flash drives.

Not sure how much this would affect performance of your overall system though, unless you are actually running everything directly off the usb flash drive versus just Arch.
