no ssh after some pogoplug.com update

Postby reyemtm » Fri Jun 28, 2013 3:21 pm

after re-installing per moonman pogoplug service, there was a pogoplug update online something like ...updating your pogoplug..when I went to re-register the device online...it almost immediately crashed arch, tried my backup usb and same thing...I cannot get into arch, no ssh, but it is recognized by the router

have not tried to reinstall, next thing to try

anyone have ideas?

I would try to reinstall to a new USB and see if that helps. If not, try getting a serial console to see what may be going on.

reinstalled fine...would be nice to have that pogoplug internet access but may not be worth it but will probably try again its so easy to install and I only have a few extra packages

Open the SSH port via your router, use a dynDNS service if you don't have static ip, and connect to that via the "internet" and use SFTP if you want to access files...
much better than the Pogoplug software - specially since ALL the files you access are transferred through pogoplugs servers.. they claim they flush the log files after so long, but who knows if that's true.
