Seagate GoFlex Net or NSA320 and Ram Usage

Postby PBear » Mon Jul 29, 2013 5:02 pm

I've noticed the specs are basically the same between a NSA320 and Seagate GoFlex Net except for the 512 and 128 ram level. I also noticed the nand is different but I figure that has no performance impact. Is the difference in ram only make a difference in how many/what services I run? I'm basically looking to run a torrent client, samba, ftp, etc. Is it worth the extra $25-35 for the more ram of the NSA320? Is there any other benefit of the NSA320? Thanks.

Even 128MB performs well if you have 256MB swap on a spinning rust.

It is very important that you don't create swap on your sdcard, but on a harddrive.

P.S. using goflexnet and running the os on harddrive instead of sdcard/usb thumb drive. It really two different worlds.
