pogoplug e02 nub having a lot of trouble :(

Postby deymious » Wed Jan 08, 2014 1:45 am

hey guys.

first of all, happy New Year :) I have two pogoplug e02s that I've just recently decided to put alarm on and get them doing something useful (they were just sitting turned off before).

What I'd really like to get them doing is SFTP, streaming some files locally, and webmin. Is there a website that has tutorials for these? I followed one for webmin, which led me to not being able to SSH into my pogoplug and having to reinstall alarm. Also, would one pogoplug be able to be my SFTP server as well as a samba server? Or would it be better to use the other one.

Also, whats the best link you guys recommend for more ideas for using pogoplugs? I would also like to install one of them to work as my personal web server, but don't know if this would take up the entire pogoplug service or not (Also would need a tutorial for that). I'm a linux beginner but if there is a tutorial I can probably figure my way around.

Thanks a lot for any advice! I truly appreciate it :)

hey man! thanks for the reply.

when you say that sftp is built in, is there some sort of guide that shows how to set it up ? i've been using Qui's blog but I don't see any instructions on how to set up the SFTP server specifically. thanks for the advice! :D

also does anyone know how to get the pogoplug e02 alarm to do wireless time machine backups? I read an article somewhere on how to do it but can't find it anymore. just wondering as I think it would be awesome to have it doing that for my mac.

thanks again for all the help!

Stop using other peoples blogs blindly. This is Arch, not some uber-stable package but quickly aging debian based system.

Use the wiki, and 99% of the Arch wiki applies to ALARM.

SFTP is not FTPS, and is a sub-layer of ssh. If ssh is running, sftp should work out of the box.

Re-read what I posted and follow the directions. The answer you are looking for is there.

"Wireless Time Machine Backups" are two separate things - setting up wireless and setting up time machine

Hey guys, so I followed everything to the best of my abilities to set up a vsftpd. Now I can't figure out how to set username/pw and how to login.

Here is the config file:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '

# The default compiled in settings are fairly paranoid. This sample file
# loosens things up a bit, to make the ftp daemon more usable.
