Problem booting since upgrade

Postby jessestolen » Fri Jun 06, 2014 1:06 pm

Hi all,

After a recent pacman -Syu my goflex home stopped booting up. The upgrade I believe contained changes to the uboot system. I think I've lost my MAC address.

I've got some netconsole outputs that tell me theres an error but I'm struggling to find any documentation on this problem.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'UBIFS error (pid 0): ubifs_get_sb: cannot open "ubi:fast", error -19

Most likely, it is systemd 213. Get you kernel package upgraded to linux-kirkwood, and thus > 3.7

thanks for the reply.

Can I do that through the console? Or do I need to make a USB rescue disk?

As it stands I can't get into alarm at all only the netconsole.

A USB rescue boot would probably make it simple.

OK. So I downloaded virtualbox and made a usb with alarm on it.

I can't figure out how to get into it though. I still can't ssh in, the password "root" won't work.

Can I make a USB rescue disk that upgrades the kernel?

Or is that not how it works at all?

You can do a new install on a different USB disk, download and install the linux-kirkwood package, then mount your old USB drive and copy the /boot/uImage from the new install to the old USB disk and that should fix the problem on the old disk.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('PeterV', 'Y')ou can do a new install on a different USB disk, download and install the linux-kirkwood package, then mount your old USB drive and copy the /boot/uImage from the new install to the old USB disk and that should fix the problem on the old disk.

An easier way would be to grab the package and extract uImage. After you get the device to boot install linux-kirkwood again with pacman.
