Unable to input via serial? Possible brick?

Postby chrispy9658 » Thu Oct 09, 2014 9:04 am

Hey guys,
Long time lurker, first time poster.

I stumbled upon a problem with my GoFlex Home. It just doesn't allow me to input via serial anymore. Also, it won't get an IP, so I cant ssh into it, and I can't ping it either.

Thinking it was the OS, I installed arch on a flash drive, and booted from that. Still no IP, and no serial access. (ill post screenshots, and logs). I've attempted to try and re-install uboot, thinking that it MUST be that, but still, to no avail, it hasn't worked.

BTW:
It isn't the computer, I've tried on my desktop, laptop, and laptop with ubuntu, two different serial cables, and It came with the pins pre-installed.

I've been googling for hours, and I'm ready for bed. I'll check the thread in the morning. The only thing that I can think of, is that something got corrupt?

Please help me figure this out!!

Try the kirkwood rootfs with a newer kernel. IIRC you need to do some extra work with 3.1 to get it to get an IP because of systemd/old kernel incompatibilities
