Enabling IPv6

Postby habibie » Fri Mar 06, 2015 4:10 pm

I have a Seagate GoFLEX Home running on ALARM. My ISP, Comcast, has provided IPv6. However, my GoFLEX Home only has been assigned with a private IPv4 address. Does ALARM support IPv6? If so, what kernel packages should I install?

FYI, uname -a output as follows:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '[root@alarm ~]# uname -a
Linux alarm 3.18.5-1-ARCH #1 PREEMPT Sat Jan 31 02:35:20 MST 2015 armv5tel GNU/Linux
[root@alarm ~]# ')

It should be supported. Did you set it up to get an IPv6 DHCP ?

Mine gets ipv6 address automatically. Does your router do stateless or stateful advertising. Stateless works out of the box

I took a look at the cable modem unit and the IPv6 is configured as a Stateless (Auto-Config). Also, if I reboot my GoFLEX Home into OpenWRT, it is capable of IPv6, i.e. assigned with a public IPv6 address by the cable modem unit. Perhaps, my ALARM is missing some packages that support IPv6?
