Are you willing to test ? I might come up with something if yes :)

I am game for testing. :) I just blew the dust off the nsa310 board and everything appears to still power up; however, it appears my PL2303 cable is in need of repair or replacement. I'll also need to check/verify the condition of the bootable linux partition in my chromebook if we are going to be using kwboot/uart-boot. I hope to have the above sorted within the next 2-3 days.

I am in the middle of a move so it will be another week or two before i can get it sorted, but i will eventually. I think i had seen sources for 310 + some work to get it adapted for 2015.04 + archlinux arm config and viola :)

Thanks. The schedule can be relaxed a little more as my work schedule would prevent me from performing any testing the week of July 20

I thought I had seen 310 code somewhere, but unfortunately I was unable to find it this time so no uboot for 310 for now. See if you can request sourcecode for uboot from zyxel directly. I know I can't because I don't have 310 and they need s/n of the box.

Moonman,
I did find the NSA310 GPL at http://gpl.nas-central.org/ZYXEL/NSA310_GPL/FW4.40/. If this is not what you were looking for, let me know and I'll submit a request to ZyXEL.

I have been testing the Arch U-Boot build 2015.04.R1-27 on the ZyXEL NSA325 v2.

Instead of flashing (yet), I have used the UART recovery boot option to upload the U-Boot image to the device. Similarly, instead of installing Arch for real (yet), my Arch rootfs (from the latest Arch Kirkwood rootfs tarball) has been residing on a USB flash drive formatted to ext4. This arrangement has allowed me to keep the stock software fully functional and intact during testing.

The test setup seems to work fine. You guys have all done a really great job giving these little devices a new lease of life and fresh versions of the kernel and software packages, kudos for that!

Edit: I was initially having problems with getting the flash partitions in writable mode, but it turned out I was simply using the wrong MTD device name in the "mtdparts" command line option - "nand_mtd" from stock, which is wrong for this kernel, as it expects "orion_nand", instead. Using the correct identifier and explicitly redefining the partitions made them writable.

Edit 2: I have now successfully flashed the above-mentioned U-Boot version over the stock. The next step will be partitioning the HDDs and setting up Arch for real. Will probably do that some time tomorrow. Thanks again. I was very disappointed in the stock software, but things are starting to look much better now.

Thanks znark, I will move NSA325 to tested devices' list now.
