out of disk space

Postby maizo » Sat Mar 12, 2011 11:26 pm

I've pink PogoPlug.
Installed PlugApp without problem. When I tried to install samba, I get several "no space left on device" errors.
I've a 8Gb usb stick plugged in, and this is the result of "df -h":

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
    /dev/root 7.4G 7.4G 0 100% /
    udev 10M 116K 9.9M 2% /dev
    shm 124M 0 124M 0% /dev/shm

I've also tried to clear the cache with $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'pacman -Sc') and $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'pacman -Scc') without any result.

Please help!

Check /var/log to see if you're keeping around a lot of old logs. Otherwise, start exploring with the 'du' command to figure out what folders are taking up the space.

Thx kmihelich!
Tried to follow your tips but I didn't found anything strange.
Solved reinstalling Arch Linux ARM: now everithing is ok:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '[root@Arch Linux ARM install ~]# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/root 7.4G 649M 6.4G 10% /
udev 10M 116K 9.9M 2% /dev
/dev/sdb1 466G 130G 337G 28% /media/hd-sdb1
shm 124M 0 124M 0% /dev/shm
')

with samba installed and working!

I had the same probme the other day, after updating my pink pogoplug Arch Linux ARM install install to latest. i was using a 2gb flash drive which previously had only been using 50% according to df. i only had cherokee, transmission, samba, and vsftpd installed, and i too tried -Sc and -Scc with pacman. so i switch to a bigger 4gb flash drive and now, and even after updating my install, and adding the same above programs, i'm right around 25% disk usage, which would be 50% on a half as big (2gb) flash drive. curious, but problem solved anyway.
