updating udev errors

Postby trumpetgirl » Wed Dec 14, 2011 12:39 am

I think I just about have my device up and running. Finally am able to ssh back into my pogo! I am at the step of updating the udev and I am getting errors. I have no idea what the errors are telling me. Here is what I am getting...

[root@stradivarius ~]# pacman -Sy udev-oxnas
:: Synchronizing package databases...
error: failed retrieving file 'core.db' from archlinuxarm.org : No address record
error: failed to update core (No address record)
error: failed retrieving file 'extra.db' from archlinuxarm.org : No address record
error: failed to update extra (No address record)
error: failed retrieving file 'community.db' from archlinuxarm.org : No address record
error: failed to update community (No address record)
error: failed retrieving file 'aur.db' from archlinuxarm.org : No address record
error: failed to update aur (No address record)
error: failed to synchronize any databases

What does it mean by no address record? Did I direct it to the wrong place? I also tried the command for automounting and get the same errors.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

That means DNS failed, and there needs to be something valid placed into /etc/resolv.conf, such as google's DNS.

If you have a very recent rootfs (since 12/5 or so), then it has udev-oxnas already on it :)

So I have added 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 to the nameserver under /etc/resolv.conf, but I am getting the same error results. Any other places I should be checking that effect the DNS?
