Moving root partition

Guys, I started with installing archlinuxarm on 1gb flash drive (sda1). Later, I added a 500GB Ext HDD with 2 partitions (5GB-sdb1, 495GB-sdb2).

Now, should I move the root partition from USB Flash drive sda1 -> Ext. HDD 5GB sdb1 to get better speeds? If it is going to help, plz also help me with steps I need to take to move linux installation to sdb1.
