Trying to run gnome on pogo

Extreme *nix newbie here trying to run gnome desktop on my pogoplug.

I ran pacman -S gnome and get error messages that it can't find certain ARM files.

Nonetheless I tried running a gnome-session and I get this:

gnome-session[14646]: WARNING: GSIdleMonitor: IDLETIME counter not found
gnome-session[14646]: WARNING: Session 'gnome' runnable check failed: Exited with code 1
gnome-session[14646]: WARNING: Unable to find default provider 'notification-daemon' of required provider 'notifications'
gnome-session[14646]: WARNING: Unable to find required component 'gnome-panel'

Is there another way to get the gnome desktop environment?
