Maybe I'll put it this way:

The kernel for the OXNAS line is currently loaded from NAND. There are parts of the kernel not active, that need to be made into the kernel, and not as modules. Building the kernel will not flash the NAND, but there is apatch that needs applied, and the kernel26 package in the pacman repo is not for the OXNAS.

Long short:
I need to write a how-to, including what to patch, the default config, and how to use kexec.

I will wait for your howto guide. The good thing is that after doing all this I will have a huge wealth of experience in hacking the pogoplug.
