[RESOLVED]Can't connect to Pogoplug Pro changing HostName

Postby orney21d » Thu Mar 22, 2012 8:01 pm

hi all,

I tried changing the host name as the wiki says, changing the file
'/etc/rc.conf' and '/etc/hosts' and then did a reboot, when the device was initiated connection error. then put HDD in another linux machine with the values as they were before and I still can not connect. The green light starts flashing and after a time off. In the DHCP table I can see my device but I can not connect to it.

Regards

people.. you only need to change hostname in rc.conf.

If you don't know what you are doing, make backups.

I do not understand how it is that I must change the hostname in hosts if the wiki says they also add to the hosts file. I restored the file as I was and the router's DHCP table I get but I can not connect to the Pogoplug. I need to know, there are things in the wiki that are not correct? I am new to Unix

I followed the steps exactly as you put here:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co ... _host_name

As I put there? I think not. Figure out what you did to cause ssh to not run. If you have to, re-image your rootfs.
