Possible to use my own web UI?

Hi.

I like the My.Pogoplug UI for sorting and uploading files but don't like the fact that it doesn't let me use password protected folders, is it possible to have a similar thing where I can access a UI from the Internet/LAN but have other features like password protect folders?

nginx or apache webserver with htaccess specified? Its the easiest way I can think of

Closest consideration might be OwnCloud
