Arch/PogoPlug Pro upgrade help

I need to update my ArchLinux Pogoplug Pro. My first attempt failed causing a significant time commitment to rebuild the system. Before starting my second attempt I wanted to query the group to see if someone, that successfully upgraded a PogoPlug Pro (wired ethernet, USB drive), could share their process. I have carefully read through the postings on this issue and do not see a clear process to upgrade my device. I am a seasoned Linux user and hope someone can help.
