Ok, then your problem might be the kmod changes that require /lib/modules to be moved to /usr/lib/modules . Check that path on your "broken" rootfs image.

/usr/lib/module was not a valid location. I moved the directory to the correct one. Wont be able to test right now though, i broke the power connector off the board somehow
resoldering it as we speak

Got it back together and its getting the green LED but no IP according to my router
