Issue with green blinking after update.

Postby Speed383 » Mon Jul 30, 2012 1:45 pm

I have searched and read every post I could find pertaining to issues with install. I waited too long to update my B01 and am now paying for it. After I updated it wouldn't boot, so I obviously screwed up the updating.

So far I have: Reformatted 3 seperate drives following the directions on the install page. I partitioned it and set it as ext3. I set the name as "rootfs". I untar'ed the tarball as sudo su in Ubuntu. I changed the mac_addr to reflect my MAC address. I sync'd and unmounted the drive.

When I place it in the Pogo it blinks for about 13 seconds and then shuts off. The drive is being accessed, but the Pogo isn't pulling an IP address.

I have tried the process numerous times on multiple computers and Linux OS's. I also tried partitioning the drive with Gparted, but it didn't matter. At this point I am at a loss. If there is something I am missing please let me know.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A')fter I updated it wouldn't boot, so I obviously screwed up the updating.

I believe that statement covers the fact that I didn't read the important update notice.

What do I need to do to fix my screw up?

- Grab the 2012.05 tarball
- extract that to a USB drive
- update your kernel
- Grab the latest tarball
- extract that to a USB drive

I appreciate your reply Warhead. I got it up and running.

I am having another issue however. I can't seem to get Transmission to run under a user. It runs fine as root, but when I set up a user, edit the file, it starts just fine but it won't stop. Since it fails to stop the files don't get created. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
