what did just blparam just do?

Postby fovea1959 » Thu Sep 13, 2012 7:04 pm

I think I just did a bad thing:

./blparam --help

I got this:

I am scared to death to power down now... what did I just do, and how do I recover?

Doesn't look like it did anything, but there is no included help in that binary.

no problem. The writing/erased messages scared the heck out of me. I don't have a serial cable made up :)

All is well.

Thanks.

Wow. I just did the same thing, "blparam --help", after getting nothing from "man blparam"

I am ok with there not being any help in the binary but having it just rush ahead and write stuff is seriously scary and dangerous. Seems to me like it should never write anything without either a user confirmation or at least an explicit switch to do so.

That comes from CE, not exactly a standard distributed program.
