Cannot login pogoplugpro ssh

Hi All
I got a pogoplugpro from ebay.
It shows solid yellow light and totally offline at my.pogoplug.com.
The device has been assigned an IP from my router.
I can ssh/ping to it ,but cannot login as i do not have the ssh root password.
Can I re-install/reset firmware, or simply have default ssh root password for a trial.

Without a serial cable, or connection to pogoplug.com: nada.

What about booting off a sata drive?

True, he can do a full sata boot, and bypass it all.
