mt-daapd

Postby taco57 » Mon Sep 17, 2012 1:48 am

I have spent a good portion of the day today trying to configure my pogo v3 to run mt-daapd for use with an Apple TV 2. I have been researching and according to my findings, mt-daapd is newer than forked-daapd? I could be wrong and maybe that is my issue here. But anyways, I have configured the server and all is running well (no errors) server:3689 shows admin status. The issue is that my Apple TV nor my iTunes running 10.7 will recognize the server. Although I downloaded a Simple DAAP Player from the App store onto my iPhone and the server IS recognized and I can play music from it to my phone. Can someone shed some light on this or give me a few ideas as to why I can't access the server from my Apple TV or iTunes?

I'm having (almost) exactly the same issue as you describe. Can view/play via "Simple DAAP Player" on iPhone, but my library is not visible on AppleTV or iPhone (via Music app). iTunes, however, does show/play media.

My suspicion is that this is related to AppleTV and iPhone messages about showing libraries associated with my AppleID.

Please LMK if you have found a solution...

Well I partly found a solution. I have a fairly large music library (10,000 songs). It wasn't loading the library, as a test I made a single album playlist for the DAAP server and it worked great, in iTunes only, it didn't work on my AppleTV.

To sum it up I basically gave it up, when I get some more time maybe ill jump back to it. I didn't look into large libraries, idk if you are using a pogoplug as I was, maybe it just couldn't handle to load. I really dont know.
