Please review any number of posts, install notes, etc.

This is a known issue with usb drives at this time with the Oxnas based boards.

Maybe I am in need of new glasses (almost certain).
I have looked through the Forum and I couldn't see any reference to this problem (or potential solutions)

I don't need the explanation here but if you could point me in the right direction ...

Thanks (very newbie)

Basically, since the uboot doesn't know about the USB at this point, we tell it to boot off of /dev/sda1. We can't pre-emptively predict which drive will respond & register via USB first and become /dev/sda1. Safest bet: sorry, don't have 2 attached at boot.

Any idea when/if this issue will be solved?

When we get USB into Uboot.

Hate to be a pest, especially since my contribution is ... nil, but is there any "guesstimate" on the time. I understand "when it's ready" is a common/acceptable answer, but I would appreciate something slightly less vague.

I'd love to give you a hard timeline, but since we're not paid for this gig, and all time is volunteer.. I can't.

We're in the process of completely re-implementing the drivers.. so, yeah, if you can help with a ground-up rewrite, do tell.

The only 100% working solution currently available at this time is to boot archlinux or debian off a SATA/eSATA drive instead of USB. Then you can have as many additional USB drives attached as you want.

Another solution is to wipe out the original Pogoplug rootfs and boot from NAND instead of USB/SATA.

I'm very close to having an OpenWRT NAND installation working on the P21.
