Let me just get 2.6.31.14 patchset tested against our kernel, and I will be releasing an updated kernel and a crap-tonne of modules anyways.

WarheadsSE ,
You are the master and i respect your all work !
That effectively, a great job.
I just want to understand more the difficulties and may be help you (if i can help with my little unix knowledge).

Everything is possible with unix so , here it's the same , it "just" a matter of knowledge and experience.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('atardani', '
')I found a patch that should correct this problem, see http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/l ... el/1139869
I'm a quite totally newbie of linux, and I don't know extacly how to apply it.

cd /path/to/pogopro-linux-2.6.31.6-r2
[write the patch to a file]
patch -p1 < file.patch
or, if you want to test it first without applying then do this instead:
patch --dry-run -p1 < file.patch

dry-run would be a good idea given that you'll get a malformed patch if you just paste that patch into a file. The leading spaces were stripped by the webpage.

Sounds like you and tassheloff are in the same boat

Maybe a RS485 to USB converter based on a different chipset would work?

Yes, i know.
Me, tasslehof and zigomatic are experiencing the same issue.
I and tasslehof are searching a solution since two weeks or more, with no results at the moment.

Thank you for your help, I'll try the patch!
Or I'll wait the new kernel :)

Hello All,

I have tested the software on ubuntu on a laptop and it works well.
After that I remove ubuntu and put Arch Linux distribution, update all package , kernel etc and this is NOK :shock:

I see the module loaded, i see that everything are there to have the software running.

So question: the armarchlinux is based on archlinux distribution ?

update:
I remove again all put only the iso coming from http://www.archlinux.org/download/
no update
it's this is ok. (linux 3.0-ARCH on i686 laptop)

Can you take the driver from there and put on pogo ?
I see pl2303.ko.gz or this is compiled for only i686 ?

I see also one more module in the laptop which is not on pogo:
usbcore ... used by pl2303

This is possible to active debug level for all modules, kernel and have this under /var/log ?

Linux Device Drivers, 2nd Edition Book: interesting : http://www.xml.com/ldd/chapter/book/ch02.html
change 02 by chapter that you want ;)

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'I')s armarchlinux is based on archlinux distribution ?

Arch Linux ARM .. not armarchlinux, and as the name implies, and we've stated many places, yes Arch is our upstream.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'I') see pl2303.ko.gz or this is compiled for only i686 ?

kernel modules are not compatible across architecture changes

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')I see also one more module in the laptop which is not on pogo:
usbcore ... used by pl2303

usbcore is built-in to our kernels as many devices boot from USB.

Overall, it sounds like an issue within kernel compatibility issues.

Do you have suggestion for this particular issue ?

May be stupid, via a virtual machine ?
