Hi,

I can start on alarm ( sata driver connected by sata cable)
I have backups of /dev/mtdx, x=0,1,2 obtained from
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'nanddump -nof mtd0.backup /dev/mtd0
nanddump -nf mtd0.backup.oob ')

Given the different threads, I intend to do this:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'flash_erase /dev/mtd0 0 4
nandwrite /dev/mtd0 mtd0.backup
reboot (on pogo without sata
setenv bootcmd "run boot_nand"
saveenv
reset
setenv bootcmd "run boot_nand"
setenv bootargs "root=ubi0:rootfs ubi.mtd=2,512 rootfstype=ubifs console=ttyS0,115200 elevator=cfq mac_adr=0x00,0x25,0x31,0xAA,0xBB,0xCC mem=128 poweroutage=yes"
')
is this correct ?
What should I do with mtd0.backup.oob ?

edit: In fact even though I can not put the pogo to the factory settings, what interests me is being able to start on alarm from the usb key.

Do NOT do that using your full backup of the NAND or you will totally trash you pogo.

Use the files from the earlier message in this thread ...
viewtopic.php?f=29&t=1172&start=50#p10187

He's even provided a small script in there to make it easier.

Explanation:

When you installed the wrong u-boot using the install_uboot_mtd0.sh you've overwritten the first 512KB of you NAND.

You should only try to write the first 512KB to fix things, and not use a complete NAND image.

If you use the files from the message above then you should get a working system again. Not perfect, but working.

The problem is that the first 512KB contains the stage1 boot loader and the 1st 2 copies of u-boot.

The current linux kernel does not understand the ECC format used by CE for u-boot images and will write out versions that the stage1 loader thinks are corrupt. Lucky for you, the stage1 loader will then look at the backup u-boot images on NAND that you didn't overwrite when you installed the wrong u-boot.

This will get you working again, but it is still only a band-aid until we can actually write images that the existing system thinks are valid.

Hi

***** too late,
I executed the commands
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'flash_erase /dev/mtd0 0 4
nandwrite /dev/mtd0 mtd0.backup
reboot')
The pogo will not start.
It starts only with SATA cable.

I have a pogo B04, the files in viewtopic.php?f=29&t=1172&start=50#p10187
are for B03, maybe it is the same as B04 ?

I bricked nand with Doozan script with the --no-uboot-check parameter. His script does not include B04.

I do not know, I just know it is a pogo B04 (pink not black).

I downloaded the file-oxnas mtd0.tar.xz you have placed online.
the file mtd0.backup has the same size as the file obtained with $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'nanddump -nof mtd0.backup /dev/mtd0 ')

But they are different when I look with the diff command.

Correct.

Because mine was from a modified plug.

Well, it's good to be proved right! ;)

You're best off just leaving it alone for now and be satisfied with booting from SATA.

Keep watching the forums, and there will be posts when there's a tested method for completely rewriting the NAND with a good image to resurrect a dead device.

I know why your device won't boot, and AFAIK nobody here currently has the ability to easily fix that for you.

I can think of some nasty work-arounds, but a proper solution is being worked on, just have some patience.

Hello,

Thank you for the last post. My thoughts are clearer now. I thought it was possible to restore with nandwrite and you let me find that this site does not become a hotline.

In truth I do not understand much, I am a worker in the building. I found myself with a pogo for home automation (linknx, ...) following the advice of a friend to save €1700.
I typed commands without understanding. I begin to understand little by little. My English hinders me.

The pogo is back via SATA and it's already amazing to me.

Thank you all.

I got a pink PogoPlug B04. I bought it at Ebay as "Debian flash failure". There is no led activity when i turn it on. Led on the front panel doesn't do nothing at all. But i can see a blue led still lighting on the mainboard and lan activity wenn ethernet cable pluged in. The Plug becomes no ip address of course. I tried to boot it from SATA harddrive as mentioned here in forum, but ain't no luck. I need some more points where i can research further. How do i know what's exactly is broken? Is it dead when the front led doesn't lihgt any more?
