New Pink Pogoplug B04 bricked

Postby Magik » Sat May 28, 2011 6:20 am

I did the installation of Arch Linux ARM before the warning was set on the web page...

I've no idea how to restore it :(

Please help!

Yeah I did pretty much exactly that yesterday. Powerled is off, but LAN leds are working. Just my luck the warning came on just after I bricked it.

And I did the same. Maybe we should build a wall with all those bricks :)

The serial console gives nothing, so I think we have to figure out how to use the JTAG connector (HD5)

Shouldn't it be very similar to the Pogoplug Pro?

Its close, but again, the PCIe bus does not exist, so it runs a different kernel, with the PCIe disabled.

I have a bricked B03, almost the same as the B04. It is actually a Pogoplug Pro.

In the attached image you can see it is a Pogoplug Pro.

There is also a topic about a bricked B04 in another subforum

Thanks for the image, but despite the tag, it is not a pro, but a Pro without a PCIe bus. THe same as a P21

Okay, it's not a pro. But how can we determine the JTAG pins. It doesn't look like a normal JTAG connector.

Oh, i have made a backup of the original uboot on mtd0. Now we only need to find a way to restore this image.

I have the same Problem with my new B04 - assuming that the device is a Pogo v2

I already tried a serial connection (wich works fine on my Linksys NSLU Device), but there is no output in my putty terminal. In your link above it is mentioned that the broken serial connection is a result of the broken uboot. If my serial connector works I can confirm it. :(
My serial connector is just the old "RS232 connection without a kit" (http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/HowTo/AddASerialPort) (not USB DKU-5 or CA-42 cable!!) but i suppose it doesn't matter.

I also have the original uboot dumb. Any idea how we can further investigate the jtag connector? I have no experiance with jtag conncections except modifying an xbox360. But this seemed to be quite simpler.
