This won't affect OXNAS based boards. It's perfectly safe to allow it, and it will only take up a small amount of space on your rootfs.

I forced downgrade of the first few packages and then upgraded the rest. So far, can't tell a difference.

Will probably try getting hostapd working with my wireless adapters again.

WarheadsSE: "This won't affect OXNAS based boards".. does it mean OXNAS do not get kernel upgrade? still 2.6.31?

It did effect my B01 oxnas pogo - it appears to boot but network is not accessible (ping or ssh).

I know this isn't true to our style of having to bold, highlight, <blink> tag, and color notices for them to have the remote possibility of being read by the people they're intended for (and often for the sole purpose of preventing disastrous consequences); however, there's only so much a console can do. If you watched the kernel26 package being installed, you should have noticed this line:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')his package is for all ARMv5te plug computers.

I assume that through all of our normal style of boldhighlightedblinkingcolor tags in the wiki, those that own a Pogoplug Pro have realized that their install methods and manner of operating are not only significantly different but specifically designed to accommodate a processor that is not ARMv5te. If it was, well, you wouldn't have to jump through a different hoop would you?

The point being, as has been said more than an adequate number of times between here, the wiki, and IRC, the kernel26 package in the v5 repo is not for the pro/video/v3/new pink/p21/b0*/NOT-ARMv5 plugs. I hope this point is taken now.

As for the packages that now say "xyz is newer than core/extra/community," just pacman -S those packages again. Nothing changed, we just brought versioning back in line with the upstream Arch packages. The bumped versions were relics of the old system heretofore not acted on.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('mteel', 'I')t did effect my B01 oxnas pogo - it appears to boot but network is not accessible (ping or ssh).

Check you FS.

I have a v3 pogoplug (black) and performed a pacman upgrade right after the archlinux installation. As expected from the notes in this chain, while the new kernel did get installed, I am still running on the old kernel:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '[root@pogoplug boot]# uname -a
Linux pogoplug 2.6.31.6_SMP_820 #100 SMP Sun May 29 04:53:45 EDT 2011 armv6l ARMv6-compatible processor rev 5 (v6l) Oxsemi NAS GNU/Linux
[root@pogoplug boot]# ls /lib/modules
2.6.31.6_SMP_820 2.6.39-ARCH gmac_copro_firmware')

Having the new kernel apparently affects kernel module installation however. Running "pacman -S zd1211-firmware" for a WiFi driver results in the module getting installed only in the new kernel (2.6.39) tree, not in the old 2.6.31 tree.

Anyone know how to solve this?

Seriously? Read two posts up from yours, posted by me. You also must have missed the sticky at the top of this sub-forum.
