Reinstall archlinux on pogoplug pro

Postby tomster2300 » Mon Aug 22, 2011 6:55 pm

Hi all,

I currently have arch lnux installed on my pogo plug pro and would like to reinstall it, but wanted to make sure I went about it the right way. Should I re-follow the installation instructions found here - http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv6 ... provideov3 - or is there another way to do it? If I refollow the instructions, what is the correct killall command to allow fdisk to work?

Thanks!

Scroll to the bottom of that page :)

Or, see the uninstall script

I'm going to sound stupid (and I guess I'm blind), but where is the uninstall script?

Is this it? http://archlinuxarm.org/os/oxnas/oxnas-revert.sh I understand this allows you to return to your pogoplug software, but I assume it also allows you to redo the installation instructions once returned.

Sorry do you want to revert back to the pogoplug software or just re-install archlinux?

Reinstall Linux. I was searching on the forums and found the above script to revert back to the pogo plug software and thought that might be the only way to do it.

That's not the only way. There are instructions at the bottom of the installation directions on how to re-make the rootfs.

@all

If somebody does follow the guide at the button of the installation instructions, don't forget to copy all the stuff from NAND like the conversation script "oxnas-install.sh" it also does do, otherwise this might end with an endless blinking front LED:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '...
echo "# Coping key CE binaries..."
cp -ar /usr/local/cloudengines usr/local/
cp /usr/sbin/nandwrite usr/local/cloudengines/bin/
cp /usr/sbin/flash_erase usr/local/cloudengines/bin/
cp /usr/sbin/nanddump usr/local/cloudengines/bin/
...
')
This snippet is from the script, just to see what is copied.

Yours could look like:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '#\> sudo su -
#\> mkdir /tmp/ce
#\> mount -t ubifs ubi0:rootfs /tmp/ce
#\> cp -ar /tmp/ce/cloudengines /usr/local/
...')

I've remade the rootfs on a 4GB USB drive by going into another Ubuntu box and extracting the contents of oxnas into it as sudo -s. I've created the MAC address file and it still won't boot. Am I missing anything? I can't SSH into the Pogo so I can't get anything out of the NAND.

Thanks

Could someone help out a Linux noob? I have a Pogoplug Pro and somehow managed to blow away udev, so I followed the instructions at the bottom of the install page to extract the root filesystem onto a clean USB stick and rebooted the Pogoplug. I can now SSH into the Pogoplug but the LED is flashing away. I would like to run the revert script to go back to start over again but when I run oxnas-revert.sh I get the message:
ABORTING!!! Cannot locate blparam
=================================
/usr/local/cloudengines/bin/blparam must exist
Where do I go from here?
Thanks in advance.
