Using APC UPS with pogoplug pro

Postby bhbh » Sat Oct 01, 2011 12:37 pm

Hi,

First thank you guys here for providing all sorts of wonderful info about how to set up the plug pro.

I'm now done with the installation and trying to put the Arch Linux ARM install under the protection of a UPS (APC UPS ES 550, to be specific). I installed apcupsd and followed the general instruction of setting up the conf file. Then started the daemon and found there was no device detected.

I checked online and figured out it might be the udev which didn't mount the ups (connected with a usb cable). So I added one rule file - "50-udev.rules" with contents "KERNEL="hiddev*", NAME="usb/hiddev%n"". Still no luck.

My insufficient knowledge about arch linux stops me at his point and I'd like to hear from anyone who may help. Thanks!

90% chance, the kernel may not have the desired module. Looks like a usb HID, which I am not certain are in the kernel config.
