Pogoplug pro R2E2

Postby jonix » Wed Oct 05, 2011 7:41 pm

Folks,

I totally bricked my black Pogoplug pro R2E2 ??
black case, PLX chip (dualcore), sata + 3 + 1 USB.
I made a mistake, bootloader is probably totally broken.

No problem, I thought....
Just order a JST cable and put the bootloader back...
I tried with a2 cables (gnd = black, TX=white, TX= blue)
cables work, I guess. If I shortcut TX and RX, I can type in the terminal (echo effect)

The PogoPlug Pro board has a 4 pin connector.
If you can read the J3 on the left of the connector, from left to right: GND/ RX / TX ??
I hope this is correct.
I measured 3.3V between GND and RX / TX
Pin 4 is a VDD ??
I did not used it.

The bleu led besides the PLX chip shines steady.
When I connect, nothing on the terminal.. :|
I used screen, minicom, picocom...
Is this board totally bricked ? or am I doing somthing really wrong....

Johan, a new plugpc-guy from Belgium....

Hi,

My guess is you are using a wrong cable. Could you have more details about the a2 cable?
I am sure you saw this post: http://archlinuxarm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=1203&p=6688

I bought one on ebay.

PL2303HX USB to TTL Converter Module 5V & 3.3V Output

http://www.ebay.com/itm/PL2303HX-USB-TTL-Converter-Module-5V-3-3V-Output-/270809362137?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f0d7eeed9

so a TTL cable with a 3v3 / 5v switch ...

Do I need another one...

btw,
Thnx for the reply !
