Availalble disk space 100% Full?

Postby eppo2001 » Fri Oct 14, 2011 8:26 am

Hi all, I've done a new install on my Pogoplug yesterday... After te installation I've succesfully installed a few package. Samba is added without problems, then I've tried to install MySQL following all instructions... but I can't get it to work (same problem as Abuzed is having explained in this topic: (http://archlinuxarm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1786&p=9864&hilit=mysql#p9864). Today I wanted to try installing mysql again, but now I can't do anything because the disk is 100% full?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '[root@localhost ~]# df
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/root 7718536 7718536 0 100% /
/run 10240 128 10112 2% /run
udev 10240 4 10236 1% /dev
shm 62908 0 62908 0% /dev/shm
/dev/sdb1 488375968 21617512 466758456 5% /media/EXTERN_500GB
tmpfs 62908 0 62908 0% /tmp')

I don't understand how this is possible... could there be some temp folder of buffer that's taken up all diskspace, because 8 GB should be more than enough to run Arch Linux ARM, MySQL and Samba?? I only have some basic linux knowledge... so I hope someone can explain me what's going wrong here.

Did you install udev-oxnas.
Before you do, make some room
rm /var/log/everything.log
pacman -Syuf
pacman -Sf udev-oxnas
Examine /var/log for huge files, delete them and reboot

Hi Pepedog, thanks for your reply! I've indeed installed the udev-oxnas package... I will try to make some room by removing some of the logs when I get home.

Well, the Plug didn't wan't to boot at all anymore, so connecting via SSH was impossible... but I've put the stick into my XBMC computer and removed the log files from there! After that I could boot again and reinstalled the udev-oxnas again.

Edit: The logs were still increasing by 1% a minute, but after a second reboot everything look fine now, thanks!

I've also noticed there are more topic about the log problems, which is basically the problem I was having... but I did't know that my problem was actually the logs the took up all my diskspace, so sorry for sort of double posting the same thing...

Thanks for the help!!! :D

I'd love to see a pastie of only a small snippet from dmesg, to figure out what the heck is going on.

I'll be (time permitting) moving my set up to a flash drive this weekend, so if I get the problem again what do you need? will tail -n100 everything.log do? Or do you need something else?

Now that you've rebooted and it's worked, I don't need them anymore :p
