pogoplug pro blinking green after reboot

Postby avicenna » Thu Oct 20, 2011 11:20 am

Hi there,

I'm a bit of a newb to archlinux. So i tried installing it on a 500meg usb stick attached to my pogoplug pro as instructed here: http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv6/pogoplug-provideov3

Well, when I rebooted after the install was finished with the output shown below from the blparam, I wasn't able to ssh into the device. So I (stupidly) decided to just reformat the usb drive, assuming all would just go back to normal, and now all my pogoplug pro does is blink green wildly without actually booting.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks.

Go back to that page, click on Installation and scroll all the way to the bottom. Follow the "Help! It stopped working!" steps, then follow the instructions outlined here: here

Thanks a lot for the reply ... I should have been more diligent in searching for the answer in these forums.
I'll try this later today.

Hey WarheadsSE,
So I did what was instructed in the Help! part (mainly by following the first few instructions here: http://archlinuxarm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=1551&p=8868#p8868) and when I get to the part where I plug the USB key into my pogoplug, it continues blinking rapidly.
I did all the above steps using Ubuntu 11.
I'm not sure where I'm going wrong with this but is there anyway to restore the pogo's OS to before I tried the archlinux install?

Thanks.

Success!
I managed to finally ssh into it by going through that process a few times, switching the usb ports and connecting it physically to my router.
Awesome, the light stopped blinking and I can ssh into it ... now to load it with services!

Thanks for the help!

I just finished loading my Plug Pro with OXNAS, and I can SSH into it just fine. But the light on the front indefinitely keeps blinking. What does that mean ?

It means I may have missed a step in the new rootfs...

Check this$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'modprobe oxnas-led')
If that is indeed the problem, then edit /etc/rc.d/set-oxnas-mac and change the line that reads 'modprobe oxnas-led.ko' to read 'modprobe oxnas-led'

Hello,

it happens that I just finished my archarm install. It works, I think, but I also have the blinking-light issue.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '$') modprobe oxnas-led
FATAL: Module oxnas_led not found.

I checked the file, you mentioned (/etc/rc.d/set-oxnas-mac) but it is already okay (no .ko in the end).

what else could be the problem?

Check the name of the module in the set-oxnas-mac script to the contents of /lib/modules/2.6.31_SMP_820/kernel/

Oh, and for the heck of it
depmod -a
modprobe oxnas-led

ah okai, in
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '/lib/modules/2.6.31.6_SMP_820/kernel')
I found
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'oxnas-led.ko')

so, I'll change that in the $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '/etc/rc.d/set-oxnas-mac')

Thank you!
