Pogoplug v3 Arch Linux Install hang up

Postby Davis4mvp » Fri Oct 28, 2011 3:40 am

I am following the instructions for the arch linux install on http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv6 ... provideov3

I have followed the steps to the T

However, on step 9 and 10 I cannot use wget. I type in "wget http://archlinuxarm.org/os/pogoplug/mke2fs" and it comes back with the error wget: bad address 'archlinuxarm.org'

I have tried various things including: adding www. to the address. Also I have tried manually formating to ext3 on step 9 but i cannot get the script needed from step 10 on my pogoplug. Need help! Why is wget not working and how can I get the install script? :(

echo 'nameserver 8.8.8.8' > /etc/resolv.conf

You're not resolving the hostname.

Any ideas on how to fix this permanently? Idk why the dns just messes up on the pogoplug... I would rather not use Google servers everytime. Is there any downside to doing this?

If it is dhcp, then it's somehow not getting accurate information.

If it's static IP, then you need to configure it to a valid dns (often your home router)
