SNMP support on Pogo B01

Postby Gazineu » Thu Dec 01, 2011 1:27 pm

Hi,

When trying to set up a snmp daemon on a pogoplug classic, the system return the following error:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'pcilib: Cannot open /proc/bus/pci
pcilib: Cannot find any working access method.')

The kernel used by default is the uImage.nopci on this model, and I think that a kernel supporting pci can solve the lib problem without having to change the lib code.

I know that installing the uImage.pci can be done with some commands:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'removed')
The question is: Without the pci hardware on this model, will this work without bricking the device?

Thanks in advance.

WRONG

If you have B0x, it has no PCI bus. DO NOT use the pci uImage, they are separated for a reason.

Also,
THAT NANDWRITE COMMAND WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE, AS YOU HAVE NO PCI.

If you don't know what you are doing in writing NAND, then don't do it. NAND must be erased prior to being written to, if there was any content there prior, and if you do that math wrong, you've got an even bigger brick.

Thanks, man.

Also, any clues on how to get libpci/snmp working, anyone?

Rgds.

You don't have PCI on that, so it shouldn't be an issue at all.

Then you should look into the snmp daemon, and tell it to stop trying to read the pci, because it doesn't exist.

Sorry to annoy you, Gazineu, but did you get any solution for your problem?

I am facing the same question with a PowerPC embedded board and could not find much information around the Internet.
Any help would be really wellcome.

Thanks!

I'm in the same position - snmpd won't run, and returns the error below:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')# rc.d start snmpd
:: Starting Net-SNMP [BUSY]
pcilib: Cannot open /proc/bus/pci
pcilib: Cannot find any working access method. [FAIL]

If I look around, Patrick has the same problem.

Fljx appears to have solved the problem, but it looks like he recompiled, which a) I don't know how to do (yet), and b) won't solve the problem for others who use the package directly.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')Ok. Changing net-snmp-config.h.in does not work, but doing exactly as you said and changing net-snmp-config.h after configure works. My scripts were broken and were calling configure again with no need, so my changes were lost. Now snmpd loads with no error. Thanks again! – fljx Feb 29 at 13:42

How do I find out who the package builder/owner is for ARM?

Hate to resurrect a old thread, but I'm having the same exact problem with the pre-built net-snmp on the raspberry pi. Has anyone put together a patch file to fix this?
