no sisusbvga module right now?

Postby fovea1959 » Fri Dec 09, 2011 3:31 am

I just got a (cheap) PogoPlug Pro to use as a cheap web browser. Moved my SISUSB/kb/mouse from my Marvell plug to Pogo. No luck in getting X11 to start.

Digging revealed that there are no sisusbvga kernel modules for the Pogo in /lib/modules/2.6.31.6_SMP_820. There appear to be in /lib/modules/3.1.4-2-ARCH, but it appears (from a recent posting) that the 3.1.4 kernel will be in 2012.

Would I be correct in assuming that I'm kind of out-of-luck until the new kernel is available, then I will be able to at least try to use the sisusb device?

(bummed, I bought the Pogo just for the SISUSB!)

For the moment, I'd say thats the case unless you want to drill into the 2.6.31 configs (since that kernel works) and attempt to make the necessary modules/changes.
