what are the boot loader changes required?

On a different front , what are the boot loader changes required currently it boots from USB which only has 1 ext3 partition plan to create 5GB partition for pkgs and rest 400Gb for data storage.

So, a 5GB root partition and 400GB data partition then?

No BOOTLOADER changes needed, fstab changes though.
