Help, I might have bricked my Pogoplug Pro

Postby youngbilly » Wed Dec 14, 2011 3:40 am

I followed the install guide, and everything went fine. Now, all I see is blinking green light. I took the USB out and reformatted with ext3, did everything the guide asked, including edit the mac_addr file. It is still blinking that green light. My ssh connection was unstable, that might have caused it.

What else should I try now?

I know Linux very well, please help me.

Thanks for the replies.

I have a dockstar. I plugged my usb to that, and did everything as root. It did not help, still the same problem: flushing green LED. I tried two usb drives.

I looked at the router, no ip. I scanned my net work, no new device. :o

If that is the case, then we may be down to the "fun part"

Aka: getting an eSata enclosure, and hooking that up and recover in from that. It'll be interesting.

Can you point me to a link? I am all for that. :D I already opened the case and saw the sata adapter.

Do you have a serial cable?

If not I'll probably have to pre-set you an image to DD to a sata drive.

This process is /not/ nicely documented, and it's ugly with technical details.

I do not have a special cable. Where can I get the dd image?
