$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('WarheadsSE', 'D')id that fix your problem? Feedback helps confirm ;)

Nope, still no luck. I have followed your guide through three times just to make sure I didn't miss doing something stupid, and every time I still get no response to the unit. It sits with a blinking green light, and my DHCP server doesn't show any new leases. I've tried doing this with both the default ArchLinuxARM-oxnas-latest.tar.gz and by sudo rsync-ing my existing working and configured USB drive onto the root partition with no change. Anything else obvious I should try before giving up? It won't be the end of the world if I have to stick with booting from USB... :P

I to have tried unsuccessfully on an un-modified pogo classic.
I followed your guide very carefully. I did not get errors on any of the steps but still just the blinking green light.

I am making a serial cable. Will a serial connection help me determine where the boot is failing?

I have another classic booting off the USB and is working great! Thanks for all your hard work! I look forward to your upcoming releases / upgrades. The classic is hard to beat for $25

Thanks,
Greg

My initial guess, in both cases, that is something not occurring correctly in the boot sequence, I am not sure what. A serial cable would greatly help to solve these problems.

I'm having trouble and I'm wondering if my eSATA enclosure is at fault and is not being recognized by my Plug at boot - no blinking LED or DHCP lease. I am using this one from Monoprice: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=103&cp_id=10315&cs_id=1031502&p_id=5330&seq=1&format=2

Has anyone else gotten this to work yet based on the guide? If so, which enclosure are you using?

Thanks!

Seems some enclosures work and some don't.

This enclosure did NOT work:
BAD eSATA Dock:
Rosewill RX-DUS100
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182197

Echoing what warhead said, this enclosure DOES work:
GOOD eSATA Dock:
Thermaltake BlacX ST0005U
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153071

Would it be useful to create a post for people to list which docks work and which do not?

No eSATA enclosure for me. I'm plugging the drive directly into the internal SATA port and plan to mount it (2.5" 5400RPM) inside the Pogoplug case along with a small cooling fan.

Pics would be nice, I assume you'll be tapping a power from somewhere?

I am also not using an enclosure. Just direct connect to get it working.
I should have my serial cable soon.

FYI, I've tried the steps as listed and was also stuck with a blinking light and unsuccessful boot.

I modified the script to use the 700MHz stage1 and the nopci kernel.

I'm using a Vantec NexStar3 NST-360SU eSATA/USB2 enclosure which works fine when set up on eSATA using a regular install and the normal boot-from-flash-and-sda1 setup.

My serial cable has arrived, but I still need to hack it apart and put on the cdrom-style mini connector for the PPV3 serial port.

I'll let you know more when I've done that.

In the meantime, thanks so much for all your hard work! Without this site I wouldn't have bought a PogoPlug :D
