update: I made a stupid mistake by using a wrong uimage file. Now my B02 unit is rock solid now.

Only one suggestion to WarheadSE, you update the download links in the first post with updated uimage files. Other than that, everything is just great.

When I tried to pacman -Syu

I have this
...
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
filesystem: /bin exists in filesystem
filesystem: /sbin exists in filesystem
filesystem: /usr/sbin exists in filesystem
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

I did WarheadSE's update-oxnas and run the script. I also edit the /etc/pacman.conf with Ignorepkg=initscripts

I basically do not know how to answer the following two questions:
:: Replace dbus-core with core/dbus? [Y/n]
:: Replace nss-myhostname with core/systemd? [Y/n]

I answer Y to both question and get what I posted above.

You need toread the threads above. The V3 units are deprecated because the kernel does not support -Syu.

I did read 38 pages and I am not sure that I fully understand some posts. Can you specify the post I do dig further? Thanks!

Um, no. The device is deprecated because the kernel does not support necessary features for systemd, which is a critical part of the distribution. There is an Syu-able kernel, never released because it didn't matter.

looks like the only viable option left is to restore the NAND and usr the debian rootfs. The problem is I do not know how to restore the NAND

I did download ce_pogopro_ramdisk_r9, do cpio and grab uImage nnd ubi. use flashease and nandwrite to write /dev/mtd2 and /dev/mtd1 from past posts. However, the unit can not be restored. I also run the revert script and I get "look good". The flash is solid on but no ip in the network.

Any link for image download or what should I do differently to get this unit back to factory firmware? Thanks!

I tried this but it running the disc_create script seems to have no effect on /dev/sdb1. It's certainly not mountable afterwards. I'm pretty sure I followed the instructions to a T. The B01 pogo plug still can't be found on the network and the front LED never lights as before.

Is there any way this procedure can be adapted to boot a Pogoplug v4 directly from SATA?

I've tried searching and I think the Marvell Kirkwood in the Pogoplug v4 might not check the SATA for boot before the nand but I'm not sure.

@WarheadsSE:
Thank you very much for the information, concerning SATA boot!
I just integrated the procedure into my Emdebian/Debian installer scripts for the Pogoplug V3 devices. Hope you don't mind. I explicitly mentioned you in the scripts and put a link to this thread in there.
