Ralink wireless on Pogoplug Classic

Postby jancona » Tue Jan 31, 2012 2:50 am

I've got a Pogoplug Classic (B01) on which I've installed Arch using WarheadsSE's script. I'd like to use a USB wireless adapter with an Ralink 2070 chipset. I've tried installing the OXNAS kernel modules, but attaching the adapter leads to the following in dmesg:

[ 1484.290000] usb 1-1.3: new high speed USB device using oxnas-ehci and address 4
[ 1484.420000] usb 1-1.3: New USB device found, idVendor=148f, idProduct=2070
[ 1484.430000] usb 1-1.3: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
[ 1484.440000] usb 1-1.3: Product: 802.11 n WLAN
[ 1484.440000] usb 1-1.3: Manufacturer: Ralink
[ 1484.450000] usb 1-1.3: SerialNumber: 1.0
[ 1484.460000] usb 1-1.3: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
[ 1485.550000] cfg80211: Calling CRDA to update world regulatory domain
[ 1485.650000] rt2x00lib: Unknown symbol led_classdev_suspend
[ 1485.660000] rt2x00lib: Unknown symbol led_classdev_unregister
[ 1485.660000] rt2x00lib: Unknown symbol input_allocate_polled_device
[ 1485.670000] rt2x00lib: Unknown symbol input_free_polled_device
[ 1485.680000] rt2x00lib: Unknown symbol led_classdev_resume
[ 1485.690000] rt2x00lib: Unknown symbol input_register_polled_device
[ 1485.700000] rt2x00lib: Unknown symbol led_classdev_register
[ 1485.710000] rt2x00lib: Unknown symbol input_unregister_polled_device

According to this thread http://lkml.indiana.edu/hypermail/linux ... /1642.html those messages should go away if the kernel is built with CONFIG_NEW_LED=Y.

I've also tried pro-wirless.tar.gz, but loading that driver fails with the following in dmesg (presumably because my B01 does not have the PCI hardware or kernel):

[103323.740000] rt3390sta: Unknown symbol pci_enable_device
[103323.750000] rt3390sta: Unknown symbol __pci_register_driver
[103323.760000] rt3390sta: Unknown symbol pci_request_regions
[103323.760000] rt3390sta: Unknown symbol pci_unregister_driver
[103323.770000] rt3390sta: Unknown symbol pci_bus_read_config_word
[103323.780000] rt3390sta: Unknown symbol pci_find_capability
[103323.790000] rt3390sta: Unknown symbol pci_set_master
[103323.800000] rt3390sta: Unknown symbol pci_bus_write_config_word
[103323.800000] rt3390sta: Unknown symbol pci_release_regions
[103323.810000] rt3390sta: Unknown symbol pci_disable_device
[103323.820000] rt3390sta: Unknown symbol pci_get_slot
[103323.820000] rt3390sta: Unknown symbol pci_bus_read_config_byte

I'm guessing the best answer is to wait for the 3.1 kernel, but I though I'd ask if there's some trick I'm missing to get this working.

Thanks in advance,

Jim
