Sorry if this has been solved. I have downloaded Arch rootfs from June and its working perfect. If I ran pacman -Syu and update all the system it will not reboot. What packages i need to blacklist. I read all the post but it is not clear to me.

Don't need to blacklist, kmod changed directories.

mv /lib/modules /usr/lib/modules

I will be updating this soon.

Arf...

I was typing in TTY by SSH on the pogo when the pogo blocked, and I never gained access on it since this "event"...
I've seen that the pogo freezed time to time 10 seconds when I was on it via SSH before the blocking...

I tried to do an FSCK,--> My led is orange and constant, I've seen on the forum that maybe the FS is touched, and I tried to recover it, but w/o success.

Now, I've deleted (moved in other directory) all log under /var/log to see what happens when the pogo start (and to have a blank page), but no more logs are written in the directory... even dmesg... :shock: :o

I don't know what to do to be honest... My house ventilation is blocked on medium... That's a not so bad news as the night is very cold due to the ventilation, and my wife is "post-itted" to me 8-) lol... So, Linux is not only an OS ;) :lol:

More serisously.. I did the update of the img (the script from the beginning), and tried to do an update...

Any idea ? I've Ubuntu on two other pcs, so that's not so hard to do manipulation on the FS, but to be honest, I don't know what to do ;) :oops:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('ScanxTaz', 'N')ow, I've deleted (moved in other directory) all log under /var/log to see what happens when the pogo start (and to have a blank page), but no more logs are written in the directory... even dmesg... :shock: :o

Some of us were having a similar symptom on our E02's (pogo V2) after an update in the last few days. The problem was that after a new initscripts, an fsck at boot up was failing and stopping the boot before anything at all was written to the log files.

The solution was to stop the fsck at boot by editing /etc/fstab to set the last column values of all lines to 0 which ignores fsck. So if you have an /etc/fstab mounting any partitions with the last column other than 0, try setting it to 0 there.

Also, another recent update requires the contents of /lib/modules to be moved into /usr/lib/modules. The way to tell if you need this is to see if /usr/lib/modules exists and has contents for the 3.1.10 kernel and if the /lib/modules still has contents for the 2.6.31 kernel. If so do
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
mv /lib/modules/* /usr/lib/modules
')
These are just some ideas you can try.

ok, my pogo boots up ! Thanks for the tip --> It was well the modules folder that was needed...

I've still big problems to do the update as the pacman tries to upgrade 213 package in one time, and I guess that's the pbm...
Coud you advise please ?

I've another question : How often do we have to do the update ? Is this possible to croned the pacman Syu ?

Would you be so kind as to include your .config file for your kernel build. I just so happen to have one of the pogoplug pros, unfortunately the wifi kernel module isn't working so I have to rebuild it against your kernel build.

Hi!

My Pogoplug V3 wasn't booting (due to pacman -Syu update where I updated the kernel etc.).
So I reformated the USB Drive and put the 2012.05. rootfs on it.
Now he is back to life and I did the /update-kernel.sh from the update package.

I got the following output:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
[root@alarm update-oxnas]# ./update-kernel.sh
# Oxnas kernel update, WarheadsSE 06/05/12
# Adds devtmpfs to kernel, and many modules
# NOTE: I DO NOT HAVE THE DEVICES TO TEST
# THEM ALL. Sorry.

This will flash non-PCI kernel only

I didn't reboot until now cause I don't know if its safe due to these two messages:

Is it safe to reboot? What is the next step? extract the 2012.7.rootfs to the usb stick?

Thank you in advance ...
