Netconsole on Pogoplug Pro

Postby bodhi » Tue Mar 13, 2012 9:43 am

What is the correct way to setup netconsole to monitor the boot process on the Pogoplug Pro? What tools can be used to setup the server IP and the console IP? I've installed ALARM a few months ago, but currently running the rootfs dated Feb 16.

Thanks

1) Learn to program

2) Implement support for the Pogoplug Pro on a newer version of U-Boot than is shipped by the manufacturer.

3) Figure out how to successfully replace the shipping U-Boot with the one that you've just built.

;)

Sorry, but you asked for that!

:) Thanks for the response, telzey. I can program, but replacing U-Boot is something I haven't learned how to yet! I'm new to the embedded world.

So you're already 1/3 of the way there ... the last 2 steps are the easy part ;)

 That's easy for you to say. Seriously, IMHO mainly because of experts like Jeff Doozan, WarheadsSE and others like you, so many hobbyists are buying Seagate/Cloud Engines inventory firesale. Without you guy's works, I would not have bought my 1st Dockstar, and my 2nd Pogoplug Pro, for sure. So it's an opportunity to say, Thanks guys! we really appreciate the works you've done.

Certainly don't count me in with the other guys, I'm just another newcomer!

If it weren't for them I wouldn't have taken advantage of the firesale either.

Until I found this site I'd totally avoided the Pogoplug. Now I've got OpenWRT running on one!
