Flashing Green. Can't Ping. Can't SSH. Can't do squat.

Postby wayneoutthere » Sun Apr 01, 2012 5:57 pm

I think my subject line should say enough.

Everything was working fine and dandy. I have POGO-P21 (black colour) and I installed the appropriate Archlinux and Mysql, etc, etc. I was even serving web pages with Apache for a little while.

Then the other day I looked and it was flashing quickly green. I couldn't ping it, find it in the DHCP, nor ssh to it.

I can't think of how I can connect directly to it without a working network...

I found some posts on checking files on it, etc, but i"m not that high level.

I am open to completely redoing everything from scracth if I could even start that process but how without SSH?

I am an open learner and I'm willing to try any suggestions. I thank you in advance for any tips.

I wish i could understand this:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'P')lace your boot drive in another Linux computer/device and check the file system.

But I don't. I mean how does one even check a file system. Hmm.

When I put the drive in the Ubuntu machine it doesn't show up automatically so I'm assuming that I'll have to somehow manually mount it... and then take it from there. Anyways, it's a great starting point and I hope to be able to post back here with a praise report.

I was able, it seems, to get this command to produce my drive info which was somewhat encouraging.

sudo fdisk -l

I am a rookie, btw, and maybe a non-rookie can glance at this screen shot of the way I set up the USB drive and say butthead!! why'd you do THAT? Anxiously awaiting any tips if you've got 'em!
