Check the md5 on that rootfs you have please.

Ok i guess i'm out of luck for now since my hardware is dual-sata, and these kernels don't match the magic for my chip, right?

I'm thinking this, because the original kernel in nand won't load with the u-boot.wrapped it loads from hdd:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
** Bad Magic Number 0xb8e3cf2c **
')

Anyway, i'm waiting on a friend to drop by in the weekend and dump the original Akitio 2-bay rootfs from his working unit.
(My main goal is to recover my broken rootfs in NAND.)

You should be able to tftp in the kernel, if network is enabled on that unit's stock uboot. Bad magic does not refer to SoC not matching.

Re: All PLX based chips - Important Upgrade Note [updated]

I could have sworn i posted early this morning, but i don't see the post anywhere....

So can i install this on the sata drive by extracting the new rootFS to /dev/sdx2, and dd'ing the appropriate kernel from the rootFS/boot/uImage.pci to /dev/sdx1?

When i did this i get this message and then some other errors

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
mount: unknown filesystem type 'devtmpfs'
mount: mount point /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc does not exist
:: Mounting Root Read-Only [DONE]
Your kernel does not have devtmpfs support. This is not supported.
:: Adjusting system time and setting kernel timezone [DONE]
:: Starting UDev Daemon [DONE]
')

And then some errors about configuring virtual consoles failing, and PRNG not seeding. Any advice?

Verify the rootfs & kernel have dates from the 14th.

So it worked fine after i flashed uImage.nopci to /dev/sdx1, do i have to do anything special after i dd uImage.pci to /dev/sdx1 so it knows to boot into the pci version? I have a pro.

Thanks for the help.

So the kernels inside the new rootFS /boot folder look outdated compared to what is inside the update-onxas download.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
-rw-r--r-- 1 1004 1005 2345728 2012-06-14 21:33 uImage.pci <-From update-oxnas WORKS!
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2345508 2012-06-13 21:56 uImage.pci.bad <-From RootFS does NOT work
')

The kernel image from inside the RootFS will not boot, while the one inside the update-oxnas boots perfectly.

Might want to post this in the main update thread.

I will verify and mash the rootfs.

I've managed to DD the content of my friends dual-bay Akitio and will put it up on dropbox soon.
Trying to figure out how to recover my non-booting unit now.
At this stage i can verify and see the ubifs on a linux box and add/remove stuff to it as well ;)

Here's a dump of mtd1: (kernel + stuff, not trimmed)
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6773475/Akitio/akitio_dump_mtd1.zip
')

Rootfs (~100MB) will be posted later.

To recover:
- I can still boot from internal NAND's kernel
- I'm going to copy the rootfs from ubi -> sata hdd partition and change the kernel cmdline to boot from that.
- Copy back the broken bits into the UBIFS on my broken NAND.

Hi,

Did you get rootfs and is it still available somewhere?
