Background.
One Week Ago New to Linux. I have been wanting to get involded with it for some time. When I saw the Pogoplug Pro at a local store i looked online for information and came across ArchlinuxArm. I made the decision that the combination would be a great exercise in learning.
I followed the installation post found here: http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv6 ... provideov3 . It worked.
The following morning I booted the Pogoplug Pro. I watched as the unit went through all the symptoms explained here: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=3110&p=17958&hilit=login+pogoplug+pro#p17958 .
I thought it wise to follow the procedure outlined in the post. I did to no avail.
I went through the procedure six times. I repeated the procedure six more times using a second USB drive. Each time getting to the point where the Pogoplug Pro has the green light flashing then goes out and I am not able to see the unit on my network, ssh to the unit etc.
More about me and what I am asking.
A stock Pogoplug Pro is relatively useless.I bought in to the hardware hoping to use it as a platform into learning how to use Linux. I do not particularly want to revert. However at this time that may be what it takes to regain communication with the unit and then start over. Or better yet, from what I have read, the NAND it still bootable. Therefore my solution is probably in getting the USB Drive right or reverting.
I do not have the hardware necessary for serial communication with the unit. I do not have a backup of the NAND. It is corrupted. I do have a second Pogoplug Pro still in the box that I could capture a NAND image from.
I am not a programmer. I can follow explicit instructions ( they most likley alread exist on this forum if you know what to look for). I don't know enough about Linux to assume anything. I am conducting my efforts under Ububtu 12.04 Live from a USB drive.
The people involved in this project have performed an amazing amount of work on this. The site has been informative and by follwing the posts it has been as if I were following tutorials and along the way gaining insight to Linux.
