Help with Pogo P-21 --- after a power outage nothing works

Postby AustinLucas » Wed Jul 11, 2012 5:34 am

Hey guys,

I've been on here for a few months and have really appreciated looking through the solutions you all have posted. Recently I had a run-in with a power outage and happened to not have my PogoPlug (a P-21 model) on a UPS. It seems to have damaged the USB drive the filesystem was running from.

After looking through the forums I did the following:

Got a new drive.
formatted it to ext3 using fdisk
downloaded and extracted the oxnas tarball
replaced the files in /lib/modules with the updated ones.

I have read something about needing a file in the /usr/local/mac_addr directory containing my MAC address, however no specifics as to if the address should be contained within a file and what the name of said file should be.

That step withholding, when I insert the new USB drive into the PogoPlug the light flashes for ten seconds or so before shutting off. My router's DHCP table does not have any entires for it so it seems that the device isn't connecting.

Any ideas on where I can go from here? Without being able to SSH into the PogoPlug itself I can't do much other than mess around with the tarball.

If you never ran the update, then don't replace the /lib/modules directory.
