Do NOT upgrade

Postby sharan4o » Wed Jul 25, 2012 7:47 pm

pacman -Syu makes your system not bootable. I have the problem on 2 B04s. The solution was to copy/move /lib/modules/* to /usr/lib/modules/ (discussed in the previous topic)

Please fix this!

Let me know if this line is correct, for simplicities sake for other users:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'mv /lib/modules/* /usr/lib/modules/')

The issue is described in the Archnews here, yeah? So it should affect people who haven't done a pacman -Syu since 7/14/2012: http://www.archlinux.org/news/the-lib-d ... a-symlink/

The newest rootfs is fixed. And I cannot magically "fix this".

People need to pay attention.

can't ssh after update

Postby chaskito » Tue Jul 31, 2012 4:05 am

Well, I read through countless posts on this forum as well as on Arch, and performed the "update-oxnas" and was able to "pacman -Syu" with the command "rm -rf /var/run /var/lock && pacman -Syu && reboot".

I can no longer ssh into my pogo pro. Ideas? Start over? I have spent so long getting my server working and it has done well for months now! Any other information that I can supply that might aid in diagnosis?

Thanks.

You posted to this thread, but didn't read the answer?

1) Have the updated kernel ("Important Upgrade Note")
2) `mv /lib/modules to /usr/lib/modules` from any other linux machine. Heck, do this *before rebooting and you're fine.
