some info before install

hi there all - just got my pogoplug pro and excited about what i can do with it - so wanting to install arch but 1st missing is info about what size usb stick i need? also is a usb stick fast enough for system or do i need a usb external drive (dont want to get into opening it for a sata drive until i know i am keeping it)
