pogoplug pro + usb ethernet

Postby battila » Mon Feb 18, 2013 10:15 pm

Hey,

I would like to use the device with two ethernet interfaces (iptables firewall). I have an Apple USB Ethernet Adapter which is working great on my laptop. Do you have any idea how can I use this as an eth1?
I see the device on the lsusb:

[root@alarm ~]# lsusb
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 05e3:0608 Genesys Logic, Inc. USB-2.0 4-Port HUB
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0781:5571 SanDisk Corp. Cruzer Fit
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 05ac:1402 Apple, Inc. Ethernet Adapter [A1277]
[root@alarm ~]#

Best regards,
Attila

A quick google on '05ac:1402' leads to http://cateee.net/lkddb/web-lkddb/USB_NET_AX8817X.html. So you need the asix module.

Hey,

I found this info also, but I did not find the modul in the kernel.

I guess I have to compile a new kernel, or just the module.

best regards,
